Living well in the End Times

Death is a natural part of life! Have you ever wondered about planning your own funeral,
writing a will, making a good end to the story of your life or the physical process of dying?

A message from Mother Julie
These aren’t easy questions to think about, but ones that we will all at some time, be asking
ourselves. We will be addressing these questions - and more in a series of meetings, ‘Living Well in the End Times’. The meetings have been planned so that such questions can be discussed in a
supportive, relaxed and friendly setting in our home.
It will be open to all, so please do feel free to ask about bringing a spouse or a friend. We will
meet weekly on six afternoons from 3.00 – 4.30pm at Brook Close.

The series will cover issues related to living well and comfortably with our own mortality and
preparing for our own deaths.
The programme is as follows:
Session 1 : Tuesday 18th September   Be prepared
Session 2 : Monday 24th September   The story of my life
Session 3 : Monday 1st October    Planning my funeral
Session 4 : Monday 8th October   The last days
Session 5 : Monday 15th October   Departing in peace
Session 6 : Monday 22nd October    What comes next?

Mthr Julie will be leading each session along with a variety of outside speakers, including a
solicitor, an undertaker and a palliative care nurse. The sessions will be confidential, each
will close with a short prayer of blessing and an opportunity to share tea and home-made
cake. While it is probably most helpful to attend each session – please feel free to come even
if you can’t make them all.
